Each year, Synapse is grateful for the opportunity to assist HomeFront, a community-based charitable program with a focus on keeping low-income families in the homes they’ve worked to hard to afford. Sometimes, budgets are tight, leaving no room for badly-needed home improvement projects that can keep a house safe and livable. That’s where HomeFront steps in — and so does Synapse.
HomeFront Day is an annual event that brings out volunteers from all over Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties in Connecticut. Adding a little DIY to their TLC, volunteers reseal windows and roofs, replace fixtures, and in some cases redo entire bathrooms. Since they were founded in 1988, HomeFront has fielded over 2500 teams of dedicated volunteers, completed approximately 2500 projects, and delivered more than $38 million in donated projects and services.
It is important to note that these aren’t simple vanity projects that improve the appearance of a building. Research from the Centers for Disease Control indicates that some 23.4 million American families live in unhealthy homes. HomeFront aims to make a serious dent in that number.
At Synapse, our mission is to forge connections between business partners and subscribers. Forging connections in the community is a logical outgrowth of that philosophy of interconnectivity. And what could be more important than the connection between a family and their home?
Synapse is proud to once again be a participating team in Stamford, and looks forward to doing even more in 2016.
